T This study focuses on evaluating different types of automotive coil spring by applying different spring steel materials using simulation method which is then compared with the experimental method. The types of spring steel materials used are ASTM A228 Steel, AISI 1080 Steel, AISI 9255 and ASTM A227 Class 1 Spring Steel that is modeled on Solidworks x64 2016 Edition. The modeled springs will undergo a static analysis study by the means of Finite Element Method where the simulation of the spring will produce different stress, displacement and strain results together with the Factor Of Safety (F.O.S) value on Solidworks x64 2016 Edition. The results are then compared with the existing experiment results to determine which spring steel material is the best choice to be used in the future. The specification and design of the spring will follow the experimental specifications. The steel coil spring is a closed end and grounded spring condition. The purpose of doing this study to find a coil spring that has better quality than theen_US
