Abstract
The sole reason of this project to exist is to identify which factors between two significant parameters which are steam temperature and flue gas temperature that causing creep damage and decreasing the remnant life to the boiler tubes. Creep failure is a crucial problem that affecting the efficiency of the boiler and brought major loss to the boiler operator. Simulation results from ANSYS 9 that showed the output of the remnant life and creep rupture damage in different operating temperature of both parameters was analyzed by using statistical tool called Minitab 16. Statistical analysis was used in determining the main effects and interaction between both factors. From the results obtained, it can be seen that steam temperature has the main effect compared to the flue gas temperature. Moreover, the optimum operating condition was identified in order to maximizing the remnant life of the tubes while minimizing the creep rupture damage.
