From the past decades, successful improvements have been made to enhance the mechanical and electrical property of superconductor. One of the most studied materials is the Bi-2212 high temperature superconductor. In this research, the effects of sample preparation of gamma irradiated Bi-2212 samples were studied. Bi-2212 was synthesized by co-precipitation and solid state reaction method. Both of the specimens were subjected to gamma irradiation dose of 100kGy. Sample prepared by solid state reaction method showed a higher transition temperature but lower critical current density compared to co-precipitation method. When subjected to gamma ray irradiation dose of 100kGy, zero-resistivity temperature improved significantly from 21K to 68K while critical current density plummeted from 123 to 96mA/cm2. It can be established that gamma irradiation amended the superconducting property but degraded the transport property of Bi-2212 superconductor.
