dc.description.abstract | This thesis reports assessment rating of penstock condition on hydropower dam based on FSI analysis. The purposes of the thesis are to determine parameters of condition assessment for penstock structure on hydropower dam. Next, to develop an assessment rating on structural condition for penstock based on FSI (Fluid Simulation Interaction) approach. Then, we will evaluate structural condition for penstock based on FSI simulation analysis. We will tackle the problem which is hard to access the structure. The structure is also a conduit to the power house which cannot be easily stopped as high electrical demand for high population. We taking Chenderoh dam as a case study since it is the oldest hydropower dam in Malaysia. From all data that we collected from ANSYS, a simulation software, we will develop rating table based on the parameters from the guidelines. By the end of this thesis, we will be able to identify the structure problem beforehand from the developed rating table. | |
