dc.description.abstractThis thesis reports design and analysis of solar powered oil palm harvester. The palm harvester is designed to be powered by solar panel mainly due to pollution caused by motorized cutters. Improvisation was done to sickle shape and the cutter is suitable to use in palm estates during the day. The design can work on short and medium types of palm trees and terrain. Suitable blade shape and pole material were identified. Several processes and methods of customer requirement, engineering requirement, House of quality(HOQ), morphological method and pugh matrix were used before final design selection.en_US
