dc.description.abstract | This paper discusses about design of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the Solar PV System implementation at Sport Arena. Different types of energy storage are evaluated in which the lithium battery is chosen as the final decision. The power and energy consumption of the electrical load in Sport Arena has also been analysed which will be considered to size the battery capacity. The battery life assessment has also been done using MATLAB Simulink to evaluate the factors which affect the battery health. The battery life assessment and the information regarding the electrical load consumption at Sport Arena has been used to obtain the battery capacity to be used in the BESS. The design of the BESS has also been constructed and simulated using MATLAB Simulink to check the effectiveness of the system. The operation of the BESS has operated well and the battery life of for this particular system has also been simulated which shows a great improvement to its battery life. | en_US |
