dc.description.abstractRecently, technologies in power electronic industries have become more advance and improve. All the manufactures tends to develop their own product to satisfy customer needs especially in household load appliances. Without proper planning on designing the product, it will give negative impacts towards the performance of the product. This is due to effect of harmonic contains in the loads. Based on theoretical research, it stated that household appliances is categorized under non-linear load type which will contribute to power quality issue into the power system network. These non-linear loads will inject harmonic currents into distribution network. Thus, in this paper, it will consist of analysis of harmonic studies in several household load appliances. All the household appliances will be modelling by using MATLAB Simulink software. Simulation result of the models will show the analysis of the harmonics in term of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) produce from each of the household loads model. This models will help in estimating the harmonic impact of great number of household appliances in distribution network and thus explore a method to mitigate the effects.
