Banana is an herbaceous plant of the genus Musa spp. of the family Musaceae. Banana is one of the most widely grown tropical fruits because of its high food value and an important addition to the diet. Banana stalks produce its fruit only once, therefore it is important to cut off the stalk for new stalk to develop and grow. Normally in plantation the stem will be cut and left abundantly and will be left to just rot or to be used as a natural fertilizer. From the result the percentage removal of the alum is to be good for stabilize particle charge. From range of pH value 6 to 7, the alum work best on pH of 6 for small dosage but become roughly stagnant with other pH 7 and pH 8 when it comes to higher dosage than 3ml of chemical coagulant. The percentage removals are not taken as average because the geological structure of the lake bed is different which point 1 is at the shallow part of the lake and point 2 is a deeper side of the lake which gives different turbidity value. This is the reason why turbidity at point 1 is higher compared to the point 2. Weather plays important role in water turbidity. It shows in the result before treatment water samples after raining were more turbid than before raining. alum works well in coagulate particles in acidic pH and banana pith juice works better in pH neutral. Alum and banana pith juice are two different pH in nature which is alum is acidic in nature while banana pith juice is neutral in nature. Therefore, alum produce a drop in pH when added to wastewater while banana pith juice did not produce or reduce in pH. The main purpose of alum is to neutralize electrical charges of fine particles in water and clump them together. This is why certain coagulant are only works on certain pH. Since coagulation is completely pH dependent process. A good coagulant will not even work if the pH is not in the range for it to work. From this study, it is found that alum works best in acidic pH while banana pith juice works the best at neutral pH.en_US
