dc.description.abstractThere are many existing model that used for flood forecasting and early warning system in Malaysia such as Tank Model, InfoWorks, Atmospheric Model Based Rainfall and Flood Forecasting (AMRFF) and Integrated Flood Forecasting Analyss (IFAS). The role of flood forecasting and warning system as non-structural measure of mitigation is important as it complement the structural flood mitigation. The structural measures to mitigate the destructive effect of flooding. The project based on IFAS at Muar River Basin is to be developed for hydrological and flood analysis. The given title for the project is 'Near Real Time Flood Forecasting Model for Muar River Basin'. The Project objectives required to calibrate satellite based flood forecasting model and to apply the calibrated IFAS model to Muar River.
