This project is discussing about Behavior of Monsoonal Floods in Sungai Dungun and the effectiveness of flood forecasting system of Non-structural Measure as well as the operations of the overall system in order to forecast, issue warning, and control flooding. There are total of eight inventory rainfall stations selected throughout Sungai Dungun, four inventories of water level stations and also one inventory stream flow. Due to increasing flood mitigation project cost and flood area, the non-structural measures as flood forecasting, warning and response and flood hazard-risk- vulnerability map had become part of the strategy to reduce the future flood impact in the country. This project will discuss about the Integrated Flood Analysis System (IFAS) in Sungai Dungun. This system implements interfaces to input not only ground-based but satellite-based rainfall data, GIS functions to create flood-run-off models, a default runoff analysis model and interfaces to display output results in order to establish flood forecast system rapidly and effectively.
